ADSR is moving right along, and so far Team Saxy Ladies has been checked in through Challenge 7. Ok.....so to catch our loyal readers (all 3 of you, lol) up....here's a review of challenges 4-7, lol.

Challenge 4 was to create a LO with the theme "The Art and Soul of It." The LO had to include at least 3 "artsy" elements, and journaling. This one was really tough for me, as it was completely out of my comfort zone, and while I'm not LOVING the result, I'm proud of myself for getting there, and I'll continue to attempt this style as I do like the way some of the elements look. So here are Xandra's and my LO's for Challenge 4.

Xandra's

Mine

Challenge 5 was to scrap a LO with NO photos and 3 frames. This was tough too, because we're all used to scrapping a photo, LOL. Here are our LO's.

Xandra's

Mine

Challenge 6 was a "roadblock" meaning that only one partner completed the challenge. The challenge was to take a LO of your partners, flip it horizontal or vertical, then rotate it 45 degrees and scraplift it, LOL. This was a little tricky, but I lifted one of Xandra's LO's and here was the result:

And finally Challenge 7. We were given a kit and told that we had to use EVERY piece of that kit in a LO. We weren't so crazy about the kit, LOL, but pleased with our results. Here are our LO's for Challenge 7.

Xandra's

Mine

And now...we're all caught up! There were a ton of questions about what counts as an element or doesn't, what counts as a paper or doesn't...geesh, it was nuts. To cut the story short, we had to use 3 photos, 4 papers, 8 elements, a title, journaling, and 2 different fonts. LOTS of confusion over how to count the elements, could we have 9 or ONLY eight, just wow, very confusing. The basic assignment was to scrap a layout TOGETHER, using the theme "Cabin Fever." So....Xandra comes up with the BRILLIANT idea of scrapping a LO about OUR kids. Not just a LO we did together about her kids, or mine, but about ALL of them. SO COOL!! One thing the LO had to have on it was journaling, so she journaled about the pics of her kids, I journaled about the pic of Casey, and we put it all together and came up with this awesome (if we do say so ourselves) layout! Check it out by clicking either of our gallery links on the right!Sallyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04773790263127363038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5109122123651688291.post-2200428196798688322009-01-04T22:44:00.002-06:002009-01-04T22:49:41.423-06:00ADSR Assignment 1Whew...ADSR officially kicked off this morning, and both Xandra and I got our LO's completed and uploaded to the gallery in record time, LOL. The challenge was to use a photo and rip it into three pieces, and to make sure the LO included journaling. Xandra did a BEAUTIFUL layout of her kids opening presents Christmas morning, and I did a rather emotional layout about my fiance and I being apart right now. To see our layouts, click on our gallery links to the right! Challenge Two comes out Tuesday, so stay tuned!!Sallyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04773790263127363038noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5109122123651688291.post-51885598101083254382008-12-17T13:08:00.003-06:002008-12-17T13:24:24.644-06:001st Question...Hey there Xandra here, and I have my first question.
Its kinda random, and the way I came up with it was pretty random as well, Sally and I were talking about questions and suddenly I started typing and out it popped......

So here it is:

Question #1
You just inherited the Witch's Candy House from Hanzel and Gretel, what do you do now?

Sally's answer: Move In.

Xandra's answer: Personally I would have to turn it over to the FTBI (Fairy Tale Beauro of Investigation) because if she has tried to capture and eat 2 little kids she has probably done it before. It probably wasn't her first time making Johnny Stew, if you know what I mean. Once the FTBI made their sweep and found the families of the other 'missing' kids, I would probably auction the house off piece by delicious piece and share some of the profits with the families. Then with the rest go buy a house, although where? Not by Jack--I mean yes gardens are beautiful but who wants to look out their window and see a huge chopped down beanstalk with a dead giant decomposing next to it? So that's out of the question...hmmm Repunzel? No! Have you seen how much that girl sheds? Seriously she loses one hair and your front yard is covered in a tangled mess. Cinderella, is up waay too early singing, no one should be THAT chipper THAT early. Snow White...hmm living with 7 strange men....no comment. Sleeping Beauty...she sleeps a lot, so its quite, she has a huge thorn bush all around her castle, so its well guarded, there are friendly animals nearby....yes I think Ive found it! The perfect spot! Far Far Away here I come! Sleeping Beauty I'm moving in!

Yeah I have a vivid runaway imagination..........I bet it made you laugh, or at least smile!
So what would you do?Xandrahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01391616291499289751noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5109122123651688291.post-27675536271421867212008-12-16T22:43:00.002-06:002008-12-16T22:56:24.091-06:00Welcome!Welcome to the SaXy Ladies blog! The SaXy Ladies is comprised of Sally and Xandra. We met at Scrap Orchard when we both posted about wanting partners for the Amazing Digital Scrapbooking Race season 4. We decided to pair up, and found out as we were getting to know each other that we also have tons in common and have become pretty good friends already. Sally is a 33 year old mom to a 10 year old daughter and Xandra is 24 and mom to 2 year old twins (Can you even imagine?!?). We both have pretty good significant others who if not understand, at least tolerate our obsession with the digi-scrapping world. Xandra is a VERY talented digi designer and Sally just loves to play with the designs others come up with. We decided to start this blog to keep up with and document our fabulous journey through the world of ADSR4. Hopefully, it will be somewhat entertaining to those who might stumble upon it. We know we entertain ourselves, we just hope we can entertain others as well, LOL.

So, welcome again. Pull up a chair and make yourself at home. Feel free to comment, or not, it's up to you. Give us a cheer when we complete an assignment on our way to completing the race! Every so often we might post a question (Xandra's really good at coming up with good ones, lol)on here just to see what kind of responses we might get, just for fun.Sallyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04773790263127363038noreply@blogger.com1
